Natalie Barreto is the National Social Media Manager at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), with an extensive background in healthcare and nonprofit digital communications. In her role at LLS she is accountable for establishing the social media and content strategy for LLS and its five fundraising campaigns. In her short time at LLS, Natalie moved LLS’s social presence from a broadcasting tool to a measurable tool for engaging customers and driving revenue. As a result of Natalie’s efforts, LLS was recognized by Google for its best in class Google+ page and selected as a launch partner for Facebook’s Donate feature. As part of her content strategy role, Natalie has created an infrastructure, which enables LLS and its fundraising campaigns’ to create, optimize and merchandize content across all marketing channels. Prior to joining LLS, Natalie worked in Edelman Public Relations’ Health Practice, where she lead public relation and social media efforts for major pharmaceutical companies, including Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca. She also developed programs for organizations like the American Lung Association, the American Legacy Foundation and the North American Quitline Consortium. Natalie’s expertise spans across multiple areas, including blood cancer, smoking cessation, lung diseases, obesity, bleeding disorders and cardiovascular diseases. When Natalie is not taking LLS’s digital communications to the next level, she can be found running throughout Westchester or teaching a Zumba class!
