Shripal Shah is the Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of the Washington Redskins. In this role, Shah is tasked with maximizing the team’s strategic and business prospects and will also oversee the organization’s marketing strategy and platforms, with a heavy emphasis on digital and social media integration. Shripal has more than 14 years experience in digital strategy, planning and activation.
Shah rejoins the Redskins after serving as SVP, Chief Digital Strategist for Catalyst Public Relations, PR Week’s 2012 Small Agency of the Year and The Holmes Report’s 2012 Boutique Agency of the Year. While at Catalyst, Shah was responsible for overseeing and elevating digital strategy across the agency’s client portfolio, assisting in business development and advancing thought leadership initiatives. Shah was the social media architect for multiple award-winning programs, including the Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation PACE (Protecting Athletes through Concussion Education) initiative, which earned “Best Cause Related Marketing Campaign of the Year” honors at the 2012 SABRE Awards.
During Shah’s initial five-year tenure with the Redskins, he cultivated the team’s digital and marketing strategy, website operations and creative execution. Positioning the Redskins as leaders in the social media arena, Shah launched the team’s Facebook fan-page, its Foursquare team badge (the Redskins became the first NFL team to do so) and the first official professional sports team iPad app. He also helped implement the first-of-its-kind integration of Twitter in a professional sports stadium.
Prior to the Redskins, Shah managed a development team and collaborated with various business divisions at Barnes & Noble.com.
A frequent panelist at top industry conferences, including SXSW and Social Media Week, Shah began his career at web development agencies, developing website strategies for Kenneth Cole, Seagram’s, Bank of New York, and Morgan Stanley, among others.
